The Final Conference of the current SUBMARINER project was held in the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, Poland on 5 and 6 September 2013, under the patronage of the Polish Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy. The conference was organized by the Maritime Institute in Gdansk. The event brought together more than 150 participants: high-ranking politicians and representatives of companies and research institutions dealing with new marine uses around the Baltic Sea Region. The conference was marked by the presentation of the SUBMARINER Compendium and SUBMARINER Roadmap. During the conference the SUBMARINER Network was officially launched - the Network is a flagship project of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Maritime Institute In Gdansk is the Co-leader of this flagship initiative. The network was established to initiate and implement activities dealing with sustainable and innovative uses of the Baltic Sea resources.
